Creating a buzz about books

Pupils here at Chapel-en-le-Frith High School have always been avid readers, so we were really grateful to the local businesses who have made donations to our library this year. Their overwhelming support and generosity means that we can subscribe to the brilliant Bookbuzz programme for a further two years which we are thrilled about! Bookbuzz is a reading programme from BookTrust which aims to help schools encourage a love of reading in pupils aged 11 to 13. The donations will mean that all of our Year 7s will be able to choose a book to take home from a great list of 17 titles. These books are specially chosen by a panel of experts to make sure that they are of high quality and encourage reading for pleasure.

In these challenging times, it is fantastic to see that the local community is really coming together to help our pupils. We would like to say a massive thank you for the donations we received from these businesses:
