Our generous pupils and staff have been working hard to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The idea came from a student in our Learning Support department who has done a brilliant job of organising fundraising activities and creating posters to promote the events around school. Activities included a raffle, quiz and tombola with a range of great prizes on offer. She and her fellow pupils managed to create a real buzz around school, selling tickets and quiz sheets to staff and pupils alike. There was also a ‘Man’s Best Friend’ competition where the judges voted for the best photos, drawings or videos of entrants’ dogs which attracted a number of great entries.
These fundraising efforts have certainly paid off as she has managed to raise a magnificent total of £321! This money will go to help Macmillan nurses who care and support patients with cancer. We are so proud of the students involved and of our caring school community.
