GCSE Drama students perform at Buxton Infant School

Before the summer break, our Year 10 GCSE Drama students studied Children’s Theatre, examining the immersive and exaggerated style of acting needed to engage a young audience. The groups looked at Julia Donaldson’s “The Gruffalo” and “Room on the Broom”, and they worked hard to prepare a performance for children at Buxton Infant School.

The young audience were thoroughly entertained by the show, laughing at the physical theatre and over-the-top vocal skills used by the students. The children asked the characters questions at the end, with our students responding ‘in role’ which was brilliant.

Well done to our drama students for some great performances, this was such an enjoyable experience for them and the primary school children.
