School musical “Matilda JR” showcases students’ talents

Our school musical this year, Matilda JR, was a massive success and we are so proud of our young performers, they were incredible! A huge well done to all of the students involved, the cast put in an enormous amount of work to put on a truly impressive show. Members of the audience were amazed at the quality of talent, especially the singing.

Headteacher, Mr Grieves, said:

“I watched it on Wednesday, it was absolutely superb. I still haven’t got over quite how talented some of our young people are!”

The cast of 39 have been working hard on this junior version of the musical since May, learning their lines, practising the choreography, singing and harmonising and developing their characters. Dual roles ensured that there were opportunities for more students and our inclusive approach made sure that everyone who wanted a part was in it.

The experience has left the students and staff involved with a real buzz. A huge thank you to Mrs Bramwell, Head of Drama, and all of the staff involved whose enthusiasm and energy ensured that the show was such a great success.
