Year 10 Science Competition

A group of Year 10s participated in the Science Competition at Stockport Grammar School last week. This event is aimed at students who have a real passion for science and it gives them the opportunity to use advanced lab equipment, engaging in science beyond the curriculum. Teams were allocated famous scientist names and our team, “Pasteur” competed in three challenges in each of the scientific disciplines: a chemistry-based titration challenge, a physics electromagnet experiment and a biology-based antibiotic resistance test. Our students had lots of fun competing and their favourite activity was in biology where they had to work together as a team to complete the many different stages of the experiment.

Well done to students F Phillips, J Shaw, C Smith and D Fitzgerald, Team Captain, for representing our school so brilliantly.
