Year 11 leavers sparkle at the Prom

We really could not have had better weather or a more beautiful setting for the final blast with year 11. Dresses sparkled and ties shone in the glorious sunshine, and every single year 11 there looked stunning. They had gone to so much effort, and it was absolutely worth it.

The evening began with a huge array of vehicles dropping off students in front of the Palace Hotel, Buxton. Cameras flashed and parents got a little teary as their children stepped down from trucks and tractors or up out of supercars. After an hour on the grass at the front, students were shown the way to the ballroom, which had been decorated with a black and gold theme. Balloons were everywhere, and students enjoyed their complimentary champagne glass of fizzy orange before settling themselves at tables.

After the awards, which had been voted on by year 11 and were expertly presented by our resident double act, Turner and Henshall, the prom king and queen, Jack and Kiera, were crowned. Food was served and devoured, then the girls kicked off their heels and the dancing began.

What a fabulous evening! Huge thanks to Mrs Whyte and her team of helpers for organising the most spectacular social event of Chapel High's year. A big thank you also to Tying Knots who donated the amazing light up numbers, Swizzels for the lovely sweeties and The Palace Hotel for ensuring everyone had such an amazing night.
